WHY SHE IS AMAZING: When Asha launched Cardamom Hill in 2012, it was named one of Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurants and was a James Beard Foundation Best New Restaurant Semi-Finalist. Asha was a named one of Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs – People’s Choice Semi-Finalists for 2013 and 2014. Asha, a native of Kerala, India and has lived in Atlanta for many years. Her recently published book, My Two Souths which has received exceptional reviews from media outlets such as The New York Times and Eater, highlights her innovative approach to combining cuisine from two locales that are very beloved to her, South India and The American South. Her Kerala fried chicken was voted by Fox Television Network as one of the ten best-fried chicken dishes in the country. Asha’s first cookbook entitled My Two Souths was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award and recieved a 2017 Gourmand Award.
