WHY SHE IS AMAZING: While Chef de Cuisine at Bar Marco she made a name for herself nationally, cooking inventive Ameri-kinda-Mediterranean-ish food and led the restaurant to a nomination for Best New Restaurant 2013 by Bon Appetit. Since then, she has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation as a 2015 Rising Star Chef Semifinalist, 2016 Star Chefs Rising Star; Rust Belt and was honored as Best Chefs America’s Rising Star Chef. Jamilka spent two years as the Executive Chef of Spoon. She currently took the helm of Independent Brewing where she will feature accessible fare that complements interesting brews: pastas, seafood and family-style Sunday supper. The Hidden Harbor menu will be a short list of the foods of Puerto Rico.
