WHY HE IS AMAZING: Geoff was born in Philadelphia and grew up in the Central Valley farm town of Modesto, CA. He has always had a passion for food. Some of his earliest memories as a young boy include stealing bacon off of his grandfather's plate and cooking from cookbooks during the summers with his mother. After culinary school, Davis moved to San Francisco and took a position at Haven working his way up to sous chef. Geoff joined the opening team at James Syhabout's inventive restaurant The Dock and rapidly ascended to Chef de Cuisine. Currently, he is the Chef de Cuisine of True Laurel the new and celebrated San Francisco Bar where the cocktails and food are equally aspirational. It was named one of Eater's "America's Best New Restaurants", voted Best Bar Food in San Francisco by San Francisco Magazine, and one of the best bars in the US by Esquire. Davis believes that a carrot should be just as prized as a truffle and has honed a unique style of fun, nostalgic California cuisine that celebrates seasonal ingredients.
