Born and raised in the Bronx, Chef Sashia Liriano discovered her love for cooking in her family’s kitchen, mastering traditional Dominican recipes passed down through generations. With 17 years in the hospitality industry, she spent seven years as Chef de Cuisine at the 2023 James Beard Award-winning restaurant for “Outstanding Restaurant.” As the founder of Saviñon, Chef Sashia blends her Dominican heritage with professional training to create a “Contemporary Caribbean” style that redefines fine dining. Her dishes celebrate cultural roots while embracing global flavors, offering innovative, sensory-rich experiences. Now based in New York City, she serves as Chef de Cuisine for Boulud Privé at the Mandarin Oriental Private Residences, developing recipes under Chef Daniel Boulud. A fierce advocate for representation, she is committed to breaking barriers for women of color in fine dining. Whether through private dinners, pop-ups, or collaborations, Chef Sashia continues to elevate Caribbean cuisine with creativity and heart.
